65-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Vehicle Collision along Montezuma Valley Road
BORREGO SPRINGS, CA (March 31, 2022) – Friday afternoon, Richard Arthur Carpentier died in a motorcycle crash on Montezuma Valley Road.
According California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash occurred around 11:10 a.m. on March 25th.
CHP said that leading up the crash, 65-year-old Carpentier was riding his motorcycle westbound on Montezuma when he crossed over to the eastbound lane during a curve in the roadway.
He hit the back of a pickup truck that was towing a trailer, causing him to be ejected from his bike.
Emergency crews and first responders pronounced Carpentier dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries.
Due to the collision, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
